Afrofusion singer, Burna Boy, has emerged the biggest winner at this year’s Sound City MVP Awards Festival held on Saturday night at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Burna went home with three major awards including Best Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year (Killing Dem), and Best Male Artiste of the Year.
Tiwa Savage won the Video of the Year Award for “49-99”. Joeboy went home with the Best Pop Artiste Award for his song “All for you”.
Teni was presented the Best Female MVP Award for her “Billionaire” song. Davido won the Digital Artiste of the Year Award for his numbers while Rema bagged Best New MVP Artiste Award.
DJ Spinall got the DJ of the Year Award. Kenyan rapper, Khaligraph Jones, won the Best Hip-hop Artiste of the Year Award for his song “Leave me alone,” while Nigerian Jay Synth bagged the African Producer of the Year Award for producing Teni’s “Case” music video.
DJ Cuppy also got in on the act with the Excellence in Philanthropy Award. While British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua, won the Excellence in Sports Award.
The event kicked off with red carpet arrivals around 10pm and ended with a sterling performance from Davido early Sunday.
