Singer Tiwa Savage has finally broken her silence over the leak of her sex video on the internet.
The 41-year-old spoke in a cryptic message posted on Instagram on Thursday, October 21.
Sharing a photo of herself in a cleavage-baring white jumpsuit, Tiwa wrote “Change the sh*t to the game and never speak of it again.”
The drama started on October 8, after Tiwa claimed she was being blackmailed over a sex tape with her current lover.
Speaking with Angie Martinez of Power 105.1 in New York, Tiwa said her manager brought the news of the sex video to her attention.
“Yesterday I was leaving a radio station, I’m in my car, my road manager sent me messages and say ‘yo check your phone’, so I checked it and I’m like ‘waow where did you get it from?’ and he was like ‘I just got it a few minutes ago’.
“I am not going to call it a sex tape but it’s a tape between me and the person I am dating right now,” she told her interviewer.
The 41-year-old added that the incident happened last month and that the person tried extorting money from her but that she was not going to allow anyone blackmail her “for doing something that is natural”.
“I am that crazy I could put it out myself – you are not making any money off me,” she said.
Days after Tiwa made the above statement, the sex tape which went viral on social media was posted on the internet.
The trending matter has been on the lips of everyone including entertainers and politicians.
Some celebrities like Mercy Aigbe, Noble Igwe, IK Ogbonna supported the singer as they uploaded her picture and hailed her on Instagram.
However, actress Ifemeludike condemned the act by Tiwa, stating that the singer must apologise to her fans.
“She needs to publicly admit her carelessness and apologise to her fans. We can’t keep saluting immoral behaviors while our young daughters watch. she wrote
The actress also slammed those supporting the singer, calling them hypocrites.
“Because It’s Tiwa savage everyone is hailing evil, if it’s Chioma Grace Ifemeludike or one regular female in Nigeria, everyone will scream she is chasing clout or she is desperate,” she wrote.
With more than 200,000 searches, the singer led Google search in Nigeria on Tuesday, October 19 over her leaked sex video with a yet-to-be-identified partner.
A mail forwarded to subscribers of Google Trends showed Tiwa was on top of the blog.
