Singer Tiwa Savage has replied Instagram blogger Gistlover who said that her claim about being blackmailed with a video was a publicity stunt.
This comes as the alleged video was posted on the internet on the night of Monday, October 19.
Speaking in a recent interview with Angie Martinez of Power 105.1 in New York, Tiwa alleged she was being blackmailed over a sex tape with her current lover.
“I am not going to call it a sex tape but it’s a tape between me and the person I am dating right now,” she told her interviewer.
The 41-year-old added that the incident happened last month and that the person tried extorting money from her but that she was not going to allow anyone blackmail her “for doing something that is natural”.
“I am that crazy I could put it out myself – you are not making any money off me,” she said.
Instagram blogger Gistlover, however, alleged that there was no sex tape and that the singer made up the blackmail story to promote her song ‘Somebody’s son’.
Responding in an Instagram post on Monday, Tiwa who made jokes about the alleged sex tape at a concert organised by the Lagos State Government said the blogger hated how she was able to change the narrative in her favour.
“You hated how I was able to control the narrative and get ahead of a story before it consumed me and how I’m able to do a joke on stage about something you thought should destroy me and make me feel ashamed,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, the video of a woman believed to be Tiwa having sex has gone viral on the internet and social media.
Many people have drawn attention to the resemblance between the singer and the woman in the video, pointing out that their clothes, hair and fingernails match.
