Singer Tiwa Savage is currently leading Google search in Nigeria over her leaked sex video with her yet-to-be-identified partner.
The trending matter has been on the lips of everyone including entertainers and politicians.
A mail forwarded to subscribers of Google Trends on Tuesday, October 20 showed Tiwa was top of the log.
More than 200,000 searches have been registered on Google since the clip was leaked in the late hours of Monday, October 18.
Tiwa’s reaction after the clip, which many still doubt its authenticity, was released also fuelled interest in the matter.
She said her blackmailer hated the way she controlled the narrative by exposing the matter first. Tiwa had told on-air personality Angie Martinez on New York Power 105.1 FM that she was being blackmailed over the video. She insisted she would not succumb to the blackmailer’s demands, adding that the blackmailer would just keep coming for more.
“You hated how I was able to control the narrative and get ahead of a story before it consumed me and how I’m able to joke on stage about something you taught should destroy me and make me feel ashamed. You must knock my head when you see me otherwise…,” Tiwa posted on Instagram story on Tuesday, October 19.
The ‘Kele Kele Love’ singer was referring to her comment on stage during the Eko on Show concert held on Friday, October 15 to celebrate Nigeria’s Independence that “nobody would ever see the sex tape.”
Many have asked Tiwa to sue her blackmailers.
Legal practitioner Festus Ogun said in a Facebook post that sharing and posting nude content is a criminal offence under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.
“I urge that she sets the machinery of law in motion against whosoever is involved in the dastardly act. All culprits should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly so that we can learn that sharing obscene contents is not only cruel but attracts grievous legal consequences,” he wrote.
