Vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kashim Shettima has appeared in a viral video condemning restructuring.
The video, which as of Friday morning has been shared multiple times on social media, is said to have been recorded in 2017.
In the video, Shettima expresses disapproval for the call to restructure Nigeria, adding that the country most importantly needs improvement in governance.
He made comparison between conversations in Nigeria and thoughts of American business magnate Elon Musk.
“Elon Musk is talking about constricting the journey from London to New York to 31 minutes but unfortunately the topical issue in Nigeria is restructuring. Restructuring my foot! To hell with restructuring!” Shettima says in the video.
“Let’s improve on the quality of governance. Let’s invest in education, let’s create jobs, all these madness will evaporate.”
Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, was unveiled as the running mate of APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu this month.
