Tobi Amusan has returned to Instagram after qualifying for the final of the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The 25-year-old clocked 12.40s (+2.4) on Friday to qualify for the final on Sunday.
Afterwards, she made her first Instagram post since winning gold and setting a new world record at the World Athletics Championships held recently in Oregon, United States.
Referring to God, the athlete said, “He who promised fails not; Great is thy Faithfulness.”
At the World Championships, Amusan clocked 12:12 seconds in the semifinals, effectively setting a new world record.
Oregon 2022 was Amusan’s third appearance at the World Championships after making her debut in London in 2017 where she made the semi-finals before finishing fourth in the final in Doha in 2019. She also placed fourth at the Tokyo Olympics.
Amusan was the 2018 Commonwealth Games champion in the 100m hurdles held in Australia.
