World and Commonwealth Games 100m hurdles champion and record holder Tobi Amusan will on Thursday, September 8 clash with Puerto Rican sprinter Jasmine Camacho-Quinn at the Diamond League final in Zurich.
It is coming four days after Amusan came first at the ISTAF Berlin, beating American Tia Jones and Jamaican Megan Tapper to second and third place respectively.
Amusan and Camacho-Quinn will clash in Zurich, along with Olympic silver medallist, Kendra Harrison, world silver medallist, Britany Anderson, world indoor silver medallist Devynne Charlton and 2019 world champion, Nia Ali.
Amusan won the Diamond League Trophy in Zurich in 2021, becoming the first Nigerian to do so, also breaking the then-African record held by Glory Alozie in the process.
While the 25-year-old will be gunning for her consecutive Diamond League title, Camacho-Quinn will be aiming to make it six wins in six Diamond League races.
The 26-year-old beat Amusan to second place at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting in Switzerland on August 26.
The race in Zurich will be the second time Amusan will be running against Camacho-Quinn and Harrison after breaking the Word Record at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene in July.
Camacho-Quinn has been undefeated. since winning bronze at the World Championships, where Amusan produced one of the biggest surprises in world athletics when she sped to a world record of 12.12 in the semifinals of the women’s 100m hurdles, following it with a wind-assisted 12.06 in the final to win gold.
Amusan went on to successfully defend her Commonwealth Games title in August with a new Games record of 12.30s.
