Icon Management Incorporated, the agency that manages the world record holder Tobi Amusan, took to Instagram on Monday to display its champion’s gold medal.
Amusan set a new world record on Sunday, July 24 at the World Athletics Championship, completing the 100m hurdles at the semifinals in 12:12 seconds.
Apart from that, she won a gold medal at the final, running the 100m hurdles in a wind-assisted 12.06 seconds.
Amusan and compatriot Ese Brume are both managed by Icon Management.
The duo won Nigeria’s only medals at the 2022 championship on the final day of the event.
While Amusan won Nigeria’s first ever gold medal at the World Athletics Championship, Brume won silver in the long jump with an impressive 7.02m leap.
Brume won bronze medals at the 2019 World Championships and the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Icon Management took to Instagram Live on Monday to display Amusan’s gold medal. A short video posted on the company’s page from the live session showed Brume, Amusan and her coach Lacena Golding-Clarke and an unidentified man chatting.
“World record agency. The best agency in the world,” Brume says, with cheers from everyone in the room.
The agency also posted to Instagram a photo of Brume and Amusan taken at the track and field event when emotions were high.
“Well look!!!! Both Nigerians…both captured Nigeria’s only medals for this Championship…both sponsored by @adidas …and both represented by us…ICON MANAGEMENT, INC!!!! Congrats to Tobi Amusan,” the agency said.
