Media personality Toke Makinwa on Tuesday knocked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for imposing a 24-hour curfew beginning from 4 pm.
The 35-year-old expressed her displeasure in an Instagram post in which she argued that people were not given enough time to get home.
“The government, the sick system, how can you announce a curfew when people are already out? What happens to those who can’t get home before 4? You’ll give power back to the police we are fighting against?” she asked.
Mr Sanwo-Olu in a statement on Tuesday said the curfew was in response to pockets of violence creeping into the #EndSARS protests.
Toke was at the Lekki Toll Gate last week to join others calling for an end to police brutality.
She took pictures with a placard which read “I need to be able to tell my children I did not stay silent.”
