We celebrated the news of their engagement, family introduction and traditional engagement. The next big thing is the announcement of the date of their “white wedding”. Below are five of our favourite celebrities for which our fingers are crossed and predictions of what will likely happen on their big day.
Tonto Dikeh
The Nigerian cyber highway was clogged on August 10, 2015 when Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, had her introduction ceremony to the once mysterious Mr X, Oladunni Churchill. Although the 2005 Next Movie Star runner-up made sure the event was very private with only close friends and family in attendance the news was a trending topic for days.
Pretty controversial Tonto might have kept her traditional wedding and introduction ceremony private but we are sure the white wedding will be filled with lots of fun activities. Or best guess is that the event will be star-studded with her role model, Rita Dominic, in attendance. We can also expect to see former President Olusegun Obasanjo in attendance.
We might also see a male chief bridesmaid for the first time. Tontolet, as she is popularly called, hinted on Instagram that her best friend and stylist, Swanky Jerry, might be her chief bridesmaid. Gideon Okeke may want to stay away from this one. D’banj, who has been attempting to make a musician out of Mrs Churchill, should also be there to see his Kokolet become a Mamalet.
Toolz
Radio personality, Tolu Oniru, got engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Tunde Demuren, in May 2015 during their holiday together in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Her recent introduction ceremony was attended by kings and queens as well as politicians and socialites.
What else can we expect from Toolz if not a fairytale wedding befitting a Lagos princess? Our predictions: Toolz will wear a very expensive gown by a foreign designer in the class of Givenchy or Oscar de la Rente. Her bridesmaids will try to outdo the groomsmen. There shall be a lot of sumptuous ladies to ogle and phone numbers will be exchange. One thing is sure; Toolz will give us a wedding to remember come 2016.
Tosyn Bucknor
On-air personality, Tosyn Bucknor, got engaged to her French lover, Aurélien ‘Omowale Ajala’ Boyer, during a vacation in Corsica, France on August 11, 2015. Area Mama, as she is popularly called, might have the body, looks and voice of an impressionable youngster, but she is proof that big things come in small packages.
We can expect to see Toke Makinwa and her league of socialite friends, actors, celebrity journalists and Queens College old students at the wedding. Do not be surprised though if she decides to have her wedding outside the country. One thing for sure, Aurélien will be made to speak some Yoruba on that day.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu
Lawyer turned media personality turned model turned everything else in-between, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, got engaged to his girlfriend whom he met on Twitter, Cynthia Obianodo, on April 14, 2015 at a Japanese restaurant on Victoria Island, Lags. Theirs is a love story made in social media heaven. Cynthia is the daughter of The Young Shall Grow Motors boss, Vincent Obianodo.
Our expectations include the couple arriving at their wedding ceremony in very expensive automobiles and various on-air personalities supporting one of their own. A lot of tweeting shall take place during the ceremony. Watch out for Noble Igwe and other Lagos big boys in fluorescent attires.
Essence shall not be invited to sing ‘Facebook Love’.
Tomi Odunsi
Actress/singer, Tomi Odunsi, got engaged to her long time boy friend, Seun Fadina on July 13,2015. Seun, a fitness trainer, is personal trainer to Davido and the HKN Gang.
Our predictions on their wedding day include the star-studded presence of the whole HKN Gang. Tinsel couple, Gbenro and Osas Ajibade, will lead the cast of the M-net soap opera to the wedding.
