Actress Tonto Dikeh on Saturday shared photos of her dad, blessing and praying for her ahead of the Rivers State governorship election.
The actress who is the deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress shared the photos on Instagram.
In one of the photos from an event the actress attended, Tonto prostrated herself before her dad as a show of humility. In another photo, the duo hugged each other.
Captioning the photos, the mother of one wrote: “DADDY’S BLESSINGS.”
Tonto was announced as the running mate of Rivers State governorship aspirant Tonte Ibraye under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a statement on Instagram on June 24.
Explaining why she was chosen by the party, the actress said: “As a patriotic Nigerian, an advocate of good governance and a humanitarian who has positively touched the lives of millions of less privileged through my foundation, The Tonto Dikeh Foundation, and my experience in governance, leadership, administration from the Committee of Youth on Mobilization Sensitisation (CYMS), I will play a crucial role in moving RIVERS STATE.”
Born into a family of seven from Obio-Akpor in Rivers State, the 36-year-old lost her mother when she was three years old. She was raised by her stepmother, who has two children.
