The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) says it has not empowered any individual or group of individuals to act as its representatives.
In a disclaimer on Tuesday, the TEF advised members of the public to beware of such persons who pose as the foundation’s representatives to defraud people in the name of applying for the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme.
“We condemn this and seek your cooperation to bring such individuals to our notice…,” the disclaimer read.
The foundation opened its portal in January for applications from African entrepreneurs across all African countries for the 2020 cohort of the programme.
In 2019, 3,050 African entrepreneurs benefited from the programme, a number which will meaningfully increase in 2020.
The multilingual application portal is open on TEFConnect.com, the digital networking platform for African entrepreneurs, from January 1 to March 1, 2020.
