Billionaire businessman, Tony Elumelu, has joined in a breakfast meeting on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in Japan.
The conference, the largest in Japan, is being attended by presidents and business leaders and will last from August 28-30.
Mr Elumelu spoke on Wednesday alongside President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, and the Executive Director of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Henrietta Fore, at the UNICEF Gen-U private breakfast meeting.
Elumelu, the chairman of Heirs Holdings, shared insights on the potential of African entrepreneurs to catalyse the transformation of the continent.
Chief Executive Officer of Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), Ifeyinwa Ugo, will also speak at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-sponsored side event themed “Unlocking innovative solutions for the SDGs”.
She will join representatives of UNDP and several Japanese private sector leaders on the sidelines of the event.
President Muhammadu Buhari is also attending the conference.
