Adx, one-half of the defunct Artquake, has revealed that singer Tony Tetuila was his manager before he joined the equally now-defunct Remedies.
Adeniran Adegbite best known as Adx revealed this to Qed.ng on August 22 at Eedris Abdulkareem’s album listening party in Lagos.
Adx explained that Eedris and Eddy Montana met separately in a show before they came together to form a group.
“My partner and I were watching TV in Ibadan and just we saw some people called Remedies. Even Tony Tetuila was my own manager in school then. He was my personal manager. So you can see the circle and how everybody connected,” he said.
When asked the reason for the fallout of the group Artquake, the singer said: “Even me myself I can only say we were just meant to do some things individually because a friendship of over 25 years no be joke.”
In 1997, Eedris Abdulkareem, Eddy Montana and Tony Tetuila formed the Redemies group.
The group got signed to Kennis Music and released their first single ‘Shakomo’ in 1999.
‘Shakomo’ became an instant hit as the first Nigerian hip-hop song to enjoy massive rotations on local stations.
The trio soon followed this up with singles like ‘Sade’ and ‘Judile’, but just as the fame began to spread, so also did disunity set into their midst, leading to the exit of Tony Tetuila from the group.
The defunct group Artquake consisted of Adx and Tomomewo Olakunle best known as Ice K. The group was formed in 1995.
