Tonye Cole jubilant over Appeal Court ruling on Rivers APC primaries

The factional All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, has expressed his excitement after an Appeal Court in Port Harcourt overturned a Federal High Court decision to nullify all APC primaries in the state.

The party now looks set to participate in the general elections following a Stay of Execution Order granted by the Appeal Court.

“I thank God almighty for his faithfulness. I sincerely appreciate the Court of Appeal for their credible judgement, I am grateful to @APCNigeria for their steadfastness and I thank the people of Rivers state for their unwavering belief,” Mr Cole wrote on Twitter on Monday.

The Appeal Court led by Justice Ali Gumel granted the order on the judgement of Justice Kolawole Omotosho which also restrained INEC from fielding the party’s candidates in the elections.
