Nigerian singer-songwriter, recording artiste and performer, Tiwatope Savage, turned 36 on Friday.
The Mavin act has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Kent, England. She did backup vocals for George Michael at the age of 16, and has lent vocals to other musicians such as Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Blu Cantrell, Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andrea Bocelli, and Ms. Dynamie.
Tiwa has performed on stage with international stars like Sting, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Robbie Williams and Destiny’s Child as well as Nigerian artistes like Don Jazzy, Olamide, Wizkid, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks.
The mother of one made a name for herself in the Nigerian music scene after she released her debut single ‘Kele Kele Love’ in 2010.
Savage went on to establish her own label imprint, 323 Entertainment, with her manager and husband, Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun. She is however signed to producer, Don Jazzy’s label, Mavin Records.
Since she ventured into the industry, Tiwa has released two studio albums – Once Upon A Time (2012) and R.E.D (2015).
Tiwa has several awards to her credit including one MTV Africa Music Award, two Headies, one Channel O Music Video Award, one Nigeria Music Video Award, and two City People Entertainment Awards.
