Founder and CEO of Zapphaire Events Funke Bucknor-Obruthe broke down in tears while receiving the award for the best luxury wedding event company at the maiden Spice TV Lifestyle Honours in the early hours of Thursday.
Mrs Bucknor-Obruthe is the older and only sibling of the late Tosyn Bucknor who died on Monday, November 19.
Barely able to hold back her tears, the popular event planner dedicated the award to the memory of the beloved broadcaster, actress, singer and philanthropist.
Hosted by Ghanaian TV presenter and producer Joselyn Dumas, the event saw the likes of GTB, carting away the prize for financial services brand of the year, OC Ukeje winning the male lead in a movie of the year, Dangote Foundation winning the CSR brand of the year, while the award for the fashion brand stylist of the year went to Dimeji Alara (SA), and innovator of the year went to Art X Lagos.
Other awardees of the night include MasterCard (lifestyle product of the year), Dubai Tourism (holiday destination of the year) and One and Only (hotel of the year).
Nigerian international singer Asa was the star performer at the event which began in the late hours of Wednesday, December 5.
The night also witnessed performances from Bez, Adekunle Gold, Vector, Teni the Entertainer and Falana.
Powered by XCHANGE, a consortium of event promoters led by Tajudeen Adepetu, the event attracted fashionistas across the continent to the Eko Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
