Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has said that there needs to be a stop to attributing women’s success to their sexual prowess with men.
The 38-year-old stated this in an Instagram post on Monday.
She said she was reacting to a post made by rapper Ruggedman where he asked why actresses purchase cars and houses more than actors.
Toyin said she examined his post and was sad that many had derogatory comments about women in the industry.
“I saw the social media post made by respected rapper, Ruggedman about women making more money and doing well better than men.
“Nollywood women like Bimbo Ademoye, Nancy Isime, Kehinde Bankole, Inidima Okojie , Sharon Ooja, Bisola Aiyeola, are getting paid in millions. Even script writers that are not in the limelight are getting paid in millions,” she wrote.
Toyin also added that a woman is more than her sexuality.
“A woman is more than the sum total of her sexuality,” she wrote.
Ruggedman on February 5 shared a post on social media questioning male actors wealth.
He said, “My male actors in nollywood whats going on? Its just the females that are buying cars and building houses left and right. I wanted to come into nollywood but at this rate, I am not coming again.”
Rugged’s question came not up to 24 hours after actress Mercy Aigbe received a Range Rover HSE for her 43rd birthday.
