Toyin Saraki, wife of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, says she is learning to make a Chinese recipe called gyoza.
Mrs Saraki shared a picture on Instagram on Saturday of herself in the kitchen learning to prepare gyoza ahead of Iftar, the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset.
“Even during lockdown, variety is the spice of life. I’m learning to make gyoza ahead of Iftar at home,” she wrote.
“The simple tasks of life at home can bring some comfort and routine, and even hope of time spent with more friends and family in future gatherings.”
Saraki is a global health advocate born into the Ojora and Adele royal families of Lagos, as the daughter of Yoruba aristocrat, Adekunle Ojora, the Otunba of Lagos, and granddaughter of Prince Abdulaziz Ojora, the Olori Omo-Oba of Lagos.
On her maternal line, she is the daughter of the Erelu Oodua, Ojuolape Ojora and granddaughter of Sabainah Akinkugbe, a titled family of industrialists from Ondo State.
