Minister of state for industry, trade and investment Mariam Katagum on Monday slumped at an event in Bauchi State.
She was immediately rushed to the trauma centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
Eyewitnesses told the news media that Katagum appeared withdrawn from the ceremony and occasionally reached for her head.
The minister was seated beside Bauchi State Deputy Governor Baba Tela before she slumped.
A native of Bauchi, Katagum reportedly arrived the ancient city over the weekend and was at the launch of an empowerment programme before the incident.
The hospital’s spokesperson Aminu Bomboyo declined speaking with the news media.
