Traditional ruler lauds Oyebanji for repositioning tourism sector

The traditional ruler of Efon-Alaaye in Ekiti, Oba Adesanya Aladejare, Agunsoye III, on Tuesday, commended Gov. Biodun Oyebanji for re-positioning the tourism sector.

Oba Aladejare gave the commendations when members of Discover Ekiti Tourism Club and officials of Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, visited him in his palace in Efon-Alaaye Ekiti.

The traditional ruler said that Oyebanji’s strategic investment had turned the sector into a key economic driver in the state.

“I want to commend Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his laudable initiatives to unlock Ekiti’s vast tourism potential.

“We are so proud to host the 7th edition of Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari, which will help discover hidden and more natural gifts of nature in our town.

“I endorse the 7th edition of Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari scheduled to be held in Efon-Alaaye on April 21.

“As I welcome you all to our town, we are ready to host this event,” he said.

The Director General of Ekiti Bureau of Tourism Development, Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre, who led the delegation, thanked the traditional ruler for his hospitality and inspiring words.
He assured the traditional ruler of more development in Efon-Alaaye through the event.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ojo-Lanre and his team, after paying homage to the royal father, proceeded on a pre-tour assessment of the Mountain of Clouds.

The exercise aimed to evaluate the route, fine-tune logistics and ensure an unforgettable experience for participants who will climb the hills on April 21.

The 7th Edition of Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari, Hike and Dine in the Clouds was organised by Discover Ekiti Tourism Club in strategic collaboration with the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development.

Reacting after the pre-tour, the first female President of Discover Ekiti Tourism Club, Mrs Opeyemi Agbaje-Adebayo, said the governor’s commitment to promoting Ekiti’s rich tourism potential was inspiring and encouraging.

“The strategic push to position Efon-Alaaye and the Mountain of Clouds as a leading adventure tourism destination is highly commendable,” she said.

The president thanked the Chairman of Efon-Alaaye Local Government Area, Mr Bode Olatunji, the Efon Alaaye Development League and Alaaye of Efon Kingdom, Oba Adesanya Aladejare for their unwavering support and hospitality.

NAN reports that Discover Ekiti Tourism Club was founded in 2018 by Mr Micheal Ekiran, who is the current Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Development.
