President and group chief executive of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group) Owen Omogiafo has denied involvement in trading and investment opportunities promoted by the user of an Instagram account in her name.
The fraudulent account Owen_Omogiafo, Mrs Omogiafo said in a disclaimer on Friday posted on her authentic Instagram page, uses photos from her page to make videos with voiceover.
She urged the public to stop engaging the fraudulent account.
“Please be advised that I am in no way, shape or form involved in Trading and/or Investment opportunities,” Omogiafo wrote.
“There are a number of fake accounts, using my picture to defraud people on various platforms. Most recently, one went as far as creating a fake account with the handle @Owen_Omogiafo on Instagram and Tiktok, doing voiceovers on videos and images stolen from my page.
“I wish to clearly state that I, Owen Omogiafo, am not affiliated with the said page/pages and do not provide investment trading opportunities. @OwenOmogiafo remains my official and only Instagram account. Please report this page (@Owen_Omogiafo) and refrain from engaging such pages as it only encourages their activities.”
Omogiafo has a BSc in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin and an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics.
She has also served as HR advisor to the GMD/CEO at United Bank for Africa (UBA) and as an organisation and change management consultant at Accenture.
