The election tribunal in Kaduna has dismissed a petition challenging the re-election of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Chairman of the tribunal, Ibrahim Bako, leading a three-member panel on Monday, ruled that the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, lacked substantial evidence.

El-Rufai’s counsel, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, said he was satisfied with the ruling.
Chairman of PDP in Kaduna, Hassan Hyet, however, said the party would meet with its lawyers to determine their next move.
Mr Hyet described the ruling of the tribunal as unfortunate.
