Filmmaker Tunde Kelani has celebrated his birthday with Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka for the third time.
The 76-year-old posted photos of himself and Soyinka on his Instagram account on Tuesday night in which he expressed gratitude for having the honour of celebrating his new age with Soyinka.
Tunde Kelani added that a dinner party was later organised by Segun Odegbami to celebrate him.
He wrote: “THRICE LUCKY.
“Yesterday marked one of the most memorable birthdays I’ve had. A significant part of the morning was spent at ARI, (Autonomous Republic of Ijegba) in the company of my esteemed mentor and our Ọ̀gá, the highly respected Professor Wole Soyinka. It would be the third time of having the honor of celebrating my birthday around him – the first was on my sixty-eight birthday, when he unveiled the logo of our film institute, the second was when I turned seventy and was on his entourage to Haiti.
“Later in the evening, we had a dinner organized by my brother and friend, the Mathematical Segun Odegbami. I am most grateful to Professor Wole Soyinka, my family, friends, professional colleagues, and everyone for remembering me on my birthday.
God bless you all.”
