American TV host, Wendy Williams, left everyone in shock on Tuesday when collapsed during the Halloween episode of her talk show.
Dressed as the Statue of Liberty, the 53-year-old was speaking to the audience when her speech started slowing down. She staggered backward before falling to the ground.
Members of her staff were seen running to her aid as the programme had to go on a commercial break.
Wendy addressed the incident after the commercial break saying, “That was not a stunt, I overheated in my costume and I passed out.”
She added, “I’m a champ and I’m back.”
She seemed to have recovered in the episode as she was dancing around with fans who were also dressed in Halloween costumes.
Williams’s spokesperson Ronn Torossian confirmed that she fainted on-air due to dehydration.
“(She is) on her way home for a good day and night of sleep, she has been examined by medical professionals and is well.
“She is ok and will continue the shows as planned, she will address this on-air tomorrow.
“She has never missed a day of work and she is looking forward to November 13th to her 1500th show,” Torossian said.
