Nigerian Twitter users have expressed appreciation for the music of Segun Akinlolu, popularly known as Beautiful Nubia.
Born on November 11, 1968, Beautiful Nubia is a University of Ibadan graduate of veterinary medicine.
A lifelong fan of oral poetry, theatre, music and folklore, the 51-year-old released his first album titled Seven Lives in 1997.
He came into limelight with the release of Jangbalajugbu in 2002 with classics like ‘Owuro L’Ojo’ and ‘What a Feeling’.
With 17 studio albums, three poetry CDs, live recordings and regular live performance at home and abroad, Beautiful Nubia is regarded in the art circle as a cultural icon.
In a rare show of appreciation, the Nigerian Twitter generation has showered him with praise for his contributions to art and culture.
