Minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed says the ban on micro-blogging site Twitter will be lifted “in a matter of days”.
Mohammed stated this on Wednesday after the virtual federal executive council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The minister said the site has agreed to most of the conditions given by Nigerian authorities.
One of the areas still pending is the setting up of an office and staff of management cadre that will serve as the country representatives, he added.
Mohammed revealed that Twitter says the earliest it can establish an office is 2022.
He said the Federal Government’s committee negotiating with Twitter will meet on the agreement soon to make recommendations.
