Social media influencer Motara has opened a new Twitter account following the suspension of her account @motaraaaa over a viral video where she teased a child beggar with a drink.
Qed.ng had reported earlier that Motara’s Twitter account was suspended over the video she posted where she appeared to mock the child, forcing the girl to pursue her car to have a taste of the drink.
The Ibadan-based influencer said on Thursday via her new account @Motaraaaa1 that she regretted her actions, promising to “do better”.
“I, Motara sincerely regret my actions, which has made my life crumble before my eye…. never bargained for this,” she wrote.
“I got my accounts suspended, endorsement deals lost…. got disgraced internationally. I promise to do better for the world.
“What one sees as normal cruise has now become the end of me.”
Motara was also suspended from her role as public relations officer of a non-governmental organisation Brotherskeeper over the video.
The NGO also announced she ceases to be its member.
Following the outrage that greeted the video, Motara issued an apology which was later deleted.
