Reactions have not stopped pouring in after British Prime Minister, Theresa May, announced her resignation on Friday at 10 Downing Street.
Mrs May said she would step down on June 7 after three hellish years that saw her fail to deliver Brexit.
“Ever since I first stepped through the door behind me as prime minister I have striven to make the United Kingdom a country that works not just for the privileged few but for everyone and to honour the result of the referendum,” May said.
She added that she was disappointed after failing to deliver on her flagship policy.
UK Parliament, Boris Johnson, is in the frontline to succeed May following his hardline stance on Brexit.
Mr Johnson had in July 2018 resigned as foreign secretary to protest his disagreement with May’s Brexit strategy.
Twitter users have expressed anxiety over the prospects of Johnson becoming the next Prime Minister.
