Unknown gunmen have shot dead a Uber driver and made away with his car around Badore in Ajah area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the driver simply identified as Tade agreed to meet a customer who ordered for a ride in Badore.
On arrival at the pick-up point, three armed men waylaid Tade and shot him twice to dispossess him of the car and other valuables.
The gunmen reportedly fled from the scene in Tade’s vehicle.
“He (Tade) was actually killed around Badore. His service was requested and when he got to where the request emanated from, he met three hoodlums. Immediately, he started struggling with them, not knowing that one of them had a gun, and they shot him twice and drove away in the car,” Tade’s colleague simply identified as Damilare told PUNCH.
Damilare further said Tade died while being rushed to a hospital.
When contacted about the incident over the weekend, Lagos police spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi said he had yet to get any information on it.
