Actress Uchenna Nnanna could not hold back her tears while reacting to the burial of gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu.
Osinachi was laid to rest in her hometown, Amakpoke Umuaku community, Isuochi in Abia State on Saturday.
Her four children, friends, family and relatives could not hold back tears as her body laid in a white casket was lowered to the ground in her father’s compound.
It was gathered that the south-east regional pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre conducted the funeral prayers.
Reacting to the burial videos and photos posted on Instagram, Uchenna said her goodbye as she posted crying emojis with the caption: “God rest your soul my golden voice.”
Osinachi died on April 8 at the National Hospital in Abuja. She is alleged to have died from health complications following years of assault.
The singer was well known for her hit song ‘Ekwueme’ which has been viewed over 70 million times on YouTube.
Some of her family members told BBC Igbo that they plan to return the bride price, which her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, paid as part of her marriage rites.
The burial comes as the police have concluded investigation which included an autopsy. The result of the autopsy is yet to known as the case is before a court.
The police arrested Mr Nwachukwu on April 11, after Osinachi’s younger brother reported a case of culpable homicide against him.
