Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has opened a website to receive condolence messages on the death of his father, Gabriel Nkanang.
The governor’s father died on December 1, 2019 at age 90.
Mr Emmanuel said in a tweet on Saturday that he was grateful for the messages his family had received over the incident from across the world.
“My Father, the Late Elder Gabriel Emmanuel Nkanang has gone to be with the Lord at the age of 90. We really appreciate all the messages we have received from all over the world…,” he said, with a weblink directing the public to the website.
A service of songs and friends’ night will be held in the deceased’s honour on February 14.
He will then be laid to rest on February 15.
