Nigerian-born American academic Uju Anya has engaged British journalist Piers Morgan in a war of words on Twitter over Queen Elizabeth.
The conflict began on September 8 when Anya called the dying Queen Elizabeth head of a “thieving, raping, genocidal empire” and wished her “excruciating pain” in her hour of death.
Morgan then reacted: “You vile disgusting moron.”
On Wednesday, Anya claimed on Twitter that Morgan’s producer called her for an interview. She hinted she would not grant the interview with the Igbo word “Tufiakwa” which means “God forbid”.
“Piers Morgan calling me ‘vile, disgusting moron’ while his producer calling me for interview. Tufiakwa,” the associate professor said.
Morgan, who has a penchant for such clashes, replied, “I definitely want to interview you. I’d like you to try repeating to my face that you hoped the Queen died in ‘excruciating pain.’ But I suspect like most vile ‘woke’ trolls, you won’t have the guts. Do you?”
Anya said the broadcaster wanted to use her to revive his career.
“No, Piers. You want to interview me, because your career died in excruciating pain, and you need the ratings,” she tweeted.
“But I won’t let you chase clout off me. Like I said, I no dey put food for my enemy mouth,” she added.
