Imo State Government on Tuesday sealed Rochas Foundation College in Owerri, the state capital belonging to former governor Rochas Okorocha.
A senior aide of the governor on print media Modestus Nwamkpa told the press that the governor was committed to recovering state property allegedly “looted by Okorocha and his family members”.
Mr Nwamkpa said Governor Hope Uzodimma was implementing the recommendations of various white papers by committees set up by the state government.
The college is located in the old quarters of the staff of Imo Broadcasting Corporation.
However, Okorocha’s spokesperson Sam Onwuemeodo said it was the fourth time Imo State Government was announcing the sealing of the college.
“EFCC had also announced that they had sealed it but the truth is that Uzodinma should wake up. There is hunger in the state,” he said.
Mr Onwuemeodo said Uzodimma was using Okorocha’s name to distract the people.
