Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has tested negative for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Mr Emelumba said it was important members of the public were aware of the governor’s COVID-19 status.
The commissioner told NAN afterwards that the governor’s sample was taken on Saturday by officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
He said that the state government wished all residents safe as they observed the stay-at-home directive to contain the pandemic.
