Actor Segun Arinze has lauded his junior colleague Uzor Arukwe as the biggest deal in Nollywood, following Uzor’s impressive performance as Odogwu Obiora in the highly acclaimed movie Love In Every Word.
In an interview with QED.ng publisher Olumide Iyanda, Segun praised Uzor’s portrayal of Odogwu in the trending movie, describing him as the biggest talent in the industry at the moment.
“Love In Every Word—Uzor did so well in that film. He is the main deal right now, he is the biggest deal right now. Oh my God Uzor, I am so happy for him because he has walked his way up the ladder and he finally got what we call ‘the actor’s chunk.’ I am so happy for him!” Segun said.
He also recalled an experience at the premiere of The Masked King, where Uzor’s presence created a stir. “We had a premiere of The Masked King, only for them to say we are not going to start until Uzor arrives… And the minute he came in, you could see everyone screaming ‘Odogwu! Odogwu!’ Young people ran to him and you could see goosebumps on me. I was pleased.”
Uzor Arukwe has since reacted to Segun’s praise.
On Wednesday, he took to X (formerly Twitter), expressing how much Segun’s endorsement meant to him. Reposting a snippet of the viral interview, Uzor wrote, “This is the most humbling video I’ve come across on the internet today. Hearing a veteran like Uncle Segun, whom I respect so much, sing my praise really put me in my feelings. Thank you so much, Uncle Segun, for your kind words. This video made my day.”

Directed by Stanley Obi and produced by Omoni Oboli and Tomi Adeoye, the movie explores the emotional dilemmas of young, career-driven women balancing their professional aspirations with personal relationships.
The film has enjoyed significant commercial success, amassing over 2 million views within the first 24 hours of its release and surpassing 4.3 million views within 72 hours.
As of now, the movie continues to soar, with current viewership crossing 20 million mark on YouTube.
Despite its success, critical reception has been mixed—while some reviewers praised the lead actors’ performances and chemistry, others found the plot to be somewhat predictable.
In the first week following its release, Love In Every Word achieved even more remarkable milestones. The film surpassed 10 million views within six days and reached 11.5 million views by the seventh day of its release.
