Controversial former Big Brother Naija housemate DeeOne has urged Nigerians to rally behind media personality Chinedu Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia following his exit from The Honest Bunch Podcast amid his ongoing feud with social media critic Verydarkman (VDM).
The controversy erupted after DeeOne made allegations about VDM’s sexuality during an appearance on Nedu’s podcast, claiming the social media critic was gay.
The statement sparked backlash, with VDM accusing Nedu of orchestrating the claims in retaliation for his refusal to appear on the show.
VDM further alleged that Nedu had sexual relations with female guests on the podcast in exchange for publicity and that he also engaged with ladies who approached him for publicity to feature in their skits.
Among those he named was influencer Jojo of Lele, who later denied the claims in an emotional video, stating she had no involvement with the OAP.
He also mentioned another guest, Saidaboj, intensifying the controversy surrounding Nedu.
Following mounting criticism, Nedu announced his resignation from The Honest Bunch Podcast, lamenting that he was frequently made the scapegoat for conversations on the show.
Reacting to Nedu’s decision, DeeOne took to Instagram on Friday to defend him, dismissing VDM’s accusations. He insisted that his statements on the podcast were solely his own and had nothing to do with Nedu.
“Nedu is going through a lot; he did not tell me to post anything. That man is innocent, I swear with everything in this life. This is not content; this is real! VDM lied and manipulated everything. Don’t let this guy die,
“Inspector General of Police, please call us all to your office; I said everything I said, nobody told me to say. All of you should come out and support Nedu. This is not a matter of whether you like me or not. VDM lied against Nedu; he’s trying to frustrate him to kill himself,” Deeone said passionately.
He called on prominent figures such as Peter Obi, E Money, Obi Cubana, Cubana Chiefpriest, and Omoyele Sowore to intervene in the matter.
DeeOne also released additional videos challenging VDM, urging him to direct his anger at him rather than Nedu. He maintained that he was not paid to appear on the podcast and accused VDM of twisting the narrative.
