Controversial social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has alleged that media personality and comedian Chinedu Emmanuel aka Nedu Wazobia, was fired from The Honest Bunch podcast rather than resigning as he claimed.

VeryDarkMan made the assertion in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, insisting that Nedu’s departure was not voluntary.

“They don sack Nedu, but he say he quit,” he wrote.

Qed.ng previously reported that Nedu announced his exit from the podcast following a controversy involving VeryDarkMan.

The controversy stemmed from an episode featuring comedian DeeOne, who alleged that VeryDarkMan was gay. The claim triggered backlash, with VeryDarkMan accusing Nedu of deliberately orchestrating the allegations as payback for his refusal to appear on the show.

VeryDarkMan also alleged that Nedu engaged in sexual relations with female guests in exchange for publicity and had intimate encounters with ladies seeking exposure for their skits.

Amid the fallout, Nedu took to Instagram on Friday to announce his resignation, citing the need to protect his peace of mind, family, and the integrity of the show.

“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.

“I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving. I remain committed to fostering dialogue in ways that encourage meaningful engagement and growth, and I look forward to new opportunities that align with that vision.”

Reflecting on his time on the show, he wrote:

“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics.

“But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.”

Created by Glitch Africa in 2022, The Honest Bunch podcast features Nedu alongside co-hosts Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne. The show is known for discussing controversial and thought-provoking topics, often sparking debates and engaging a wide audience.

The producers of the podcast are yet to announce how the show will proceed without one of its founding hosts.
