The two other bikers who were riding with Olaolu Mudasiru, the co-founder and deputy managing director of an investment and asset management firm, Vetiva Capital Management, on the day of the accident have been discharged from the hospital.
Mudasiru was cycling with them on Sunday morning when a car hit them on Gerrard Road in the upscale neighbourhood of Ikoyi, Lagos and drove away.
While Mudasiru died, the two other bikers survived with injuries.
The two bikers, whose names were not disclosed, were discharged from Lagoon Hospitals, Ikoyi on Wednesday.
Mudasiru’s family, meanwhile, have announced burial plans.
Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said that although no arrest has been made they are already looking for the driver.
“As a result of the accident, victims sustained injuries on their bodies and were rushed to Lagoon Hospital, Bourdillon, Ikoyi, where Mudashiru later died, while others are still responding to treatment.
“Based on the report, a team of traffic personnel visited the hospital. The corpse was inspected and photographed. The corpse was deposited at a public morgue for an autopsy.
“Meanwhile, effort is ongoing to track down the fleeing driver. Investigation is in progress, and we have not made any arrest,” he said.
Mudasiru was the first son of a former military administrator of Lagos State, Gbolahan Mudashiru, who died in 2003.
