Nigeria attacking duo, Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike, are still in cloud nine after inspiring West Ham to a 5-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The pair were on target at Ewood Park as the Hammers hammered Rovers to qualify for the quarter-final of the competition.
Emenike, who scored twice in his first start for the East London club, regret missing the opportunity to grab a hat-trick.
“I could have had more but I want to thank God for today and for the victory,” the on-loan Fenerbahce man told West Ham official.
“I also want to thank the management. The game was open when it was 10 against 10 and we could have scored more. I am happy with my goals and for the team.”
Moses who opened the scoring for Slaven Bilic’s side – his first since September at Manchester City – took out time to hail the exceptional goalscoring qualities of his compatriot.
“Emmanuel is happy and I’m happy for him as well,” the 25-year-old said.
“He deserved it – he worked very hard, never stopped running and you can see his ability.
“He’s very strong and I’m delighted that he got his two goals.”
The former Crystal Palace winger, who has been out of the first team due to injury, expressed his joy to finally return to full fitness.
“I’m pleased personally. You can see I’m fully fit now, because when I first came back from injury I started a little slow.
“Now I’ve started to get myself back again and I just want to enjoy every single bit of this season with West Ham. I want to keep on working hard for the team and make sure we win as many games as we can.
“The goal was similar to the Man City one. I got into a little pocket, got the ball and turned, drove at the defenders and it was a little unfortunate for the keeper but they all count.
“I was pleased with that and hopefully there are more goals to come.”
Next up for the Nigerian duo is a date with either Shrewsbury or Manchester United in March
