Actors Victor Osuagwu and Charles Awurum have suspended filming over the shocking death of their colleague Mr Ibu.
The comic actors who are currently filming in Ghana said they had to halt recording after they received news about the death of Ibu and excused themselves from set the next day to mourn their colleague.
In a video shared on his Instagram account on Monday, Victor and Charles described Ibu’s death and showing, adding that they had to end their production due to Ibu’s demise.
“Yesterday the industry was thrown into sadness, it was a very big shock to lose one of us, a brother, a colleague and of course one of the giants the in comedy world, that man is full of life,” Victor Osuagwu said.
“Yesterday was not a good day at all, the news was a very bad one because immediately we heard it, we were weak, we could not shoot because we are in location in Ghana, we could not shoot any longer. That was the end of shooting for yesterday and today we had to excuse ourselves from location because there is no way our brother will go like that and well be on set shooting. It was not easy for us, it was not easy at all,” Charles Awurum added.
Mr Ibu whose real name is John Okafor, died on Saturday at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State after a protracted battle with illness.

According to the national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas, Ibu’s manager Don Single Nwuzor told him that the actor suffered cardiac arrest before he passed on.
“Mr lbu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace,” he said in an Instagram post on Saturday.
