Immediate past governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, has reportedly escaped kidnap along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
The highway has since become a haven for kidnappers. Three students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria were recently kidnapped along the road.

A security aide of Dankwambo, Ibrahim Tanko, shared a video on Twitter of the incident which according to him occurred on Tuesday.
Dankwambo was on his way to Abuja when the incident occurred.
Mr Tanko said: “Time was around 4:35 pm on Tuesday and His Excellency was travelling in a convoy to Abuja.
“The kidnappers blocked the Abuja-Kaduna express road, but the security men in our convoy gave them a chase.
“The hoodlums still managed to abduct about seven people, though.”

The suspected kidnappers were said to have mounted a barricade around Olam Farm where they carried out the kidnap, killing some travellers in the process.
