A man was on Monday embarrassed at the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) over his refusal to pay for sex.
According to the young woman who held him hostage, the man took her to a lounge where they had a “good time,” after which they had sexual intercourse.
The man denied having sex with her, saying that he suffered an asthma attack.
He said he offered her N2000 for her troubles but she rejected the amount, insisting on receiving N20,000.
According to him, he picked the girl by the university gate not knowing she was a commercial sex worker.
He claimed the girl, who spoke in English and Igbo, did not name a price before agreeing to go with him.
Pleas by the crowd that the girl should take the amount offered were rebuffed until the police came and took the two away.
