Liverpool defender, Virgil Van Dijk, has been named the Premier League player of the season.
The award was voted for by fans combined by a panel of experts and announced on Sunday.
The 27-year-old beat off competition from the likes of Raheem Sterling, Eden Hazard and team-mates Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Virgil Van Dijk has helped Liverpool keep pressure on defending champions Man City at the top of the table going into the final day of the season.
Since signing for £75 million from Southampton in January 2018, he has helped improved the Reds’ leaky backline as they battled for a first league title in 29 years.
It is also the second illustrious gong that the former Celtic centre-back will receive in the closing weeks of the campaign after being named the PFA player of the year by his peers after an outstanding season.
The Dutch international also becomes the fourth Liverpool player to win the award after Mohamed Salah, Luis Suarez and Michael Owen.
