Actress Toyin Alausa has penned a tribute to her colleague Sola Sobowale, saying that watching the latter’s performance in the 90s inspired her to be exceptional in interpreting roles.
The lengthy tribute was written on her Instagram account on Wednesday after meeting Sola Sobowale at the premiere of Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre.
Toyin Alausa said she paid close attention to the King of Boys star for many years after her first contact with the actress at filmmaker Tade Ogidan’s office.
She wrote: “TODAY I WANT TO SPECIALLY THANK YOU MA @solasobowale FOR BEEN A POSITIVE INSPIRATION, FOR YOUR PRAYERS, LOVE, AND FOR BEEN AN AMAZING ROLE MODEL.
“From my first ever contact with You so many years ago in Uncle Tade Ogidan’s office, Who by the way I was so elated to see after a long while also 😍, till date I’ve been enchanted by your Aura, remembering vividly now, I watched with admiration how you swayed into the office and literally everywhere came alive with your presence … Uncle Lanre Balogun throwing his usual banters and jabs I tripped at how you gave him back gbas gbos and everywhere erupted in laughter ( I bet you’re wondering how I still remember such.
“Back then in the 90’s I would watch your performances with intensity and say to myself I want to be this exceptional in interpreting characters…
“For many years I payed close attention to you and unknown to you, you’ve been a positive influence in my career. You may never know how much you’ve impacted some of us looking up to you.
“MAY HONOR, GRACE AND PROSPERITY NEVER DEPART FROM YOU MAAM @solasobowale I CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCCESSES, YOUR SACRIFICES, STRENGTH AND RESILIENCE.”
