The United States’ Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) has explained to a Twitter user that it is not the same as the Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria.
A Twitter user named Pablo John had erroneously tagged the US agency on Thursday while replying a tweet by another user known as Ikenna on alleged negligence of duty by the DSS in Nigeria.
“My brother just forget DSS in this matter….they don’t exist…Buhari is alive today is just because he has good spirit and clean heart…no single protection from the DSS….we should always remember to always have him in our prayers….may YAHWEH protect President Buhari,” Mr Pablo wrote.
The law enforcement and security arm of the US Department of State responded saying: “@StateDeptDSS belongs to the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service. We are a U.S. federal law enforcement service that is part of @StateDept. We protect U.S. embassies/consulates & investigate U.S. passport & visa fraud. We are not Nigeria’s Department of State Services.”
