The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has debunked reports that it arrested musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji popularly known as Mohbad.
Mohbad and fellow Marlain Nation signee Zinoleesky were reportedly arrested by officials of the agency in Lagos on Thursday over suspicion of drug possession.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, however, said in a message sent to Qed.ng on Friday that Mohbad was not arrested.
“He’s not one of those arrested. I don’t know who put his name,” Mr. Babafemi wrote in the message to Qed.ng.
Marlian Record boss Naira Marley had earlier said Mohbad had been released from NDLEA custody while the anti-narcotics agency held on to Zinoleesky.
“NDLEA have (sic) released Mohbad after physically assaulting him. Zinoleesky is still in custody. The boys are under a lot of stress after being ambushed in the middle of the night with no warrant. I’m urgently returning to Lagos now now now,” the 30-year-old wrote.
He added in another tweet that “What is happening to my brothers is disgusting. The injustice is unfair and this is beginning to look like a pattern. First me now my artists. Free Zinoleesky, free shubomi, free micee and dosky.”
