Fuji maestro Saheed Osupa has expressed gratitude following accolades from Bayo Lawal, the deputy governor of Oyo State.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, Saheed captured the moment Lawal lauded his contributions during a public address.

The deputy governor described himself as Osupa’s “number one fan” and commended the Fuji star for his impact and artistry.

“My driver knows I don’t listen to any song except Osupa. You will live long; we will stand by you. He is ours, even if you’re singing in America using English, I understand your Yoruba dialect very well. He’s a pride to Oyo State. You’ll not fall sick,” Lawal declared, as Osupa smiled and bowed in appreciation.

In his caption, the Fuji legend reflected on his journey and commitment to delivering quality music.

He wrote, “Ours is to continuously grow and also to deliver good music to the world. We talk less. We don’t brag but use music to do the Gattuso work. Thanks to you, Sir, His Excellency Barr Bayo Lawal, Oyo State Deputy Governor. I am King Saheed Osupa Akorede, Olufimo 1.”

This comes just a week after Osupa celebrated fellow Fuji musician Pasuma on his birthday.

Sharing a message on Instagram, the 55-year-old acknowledged their enduring friendship, even through recent challenges.

“Happy birthday to my friend, Ajibola Alabi Pasuma. I’m so grateful that we were able to work through our recent rough patch and come out even stronger on the other side,” he wrote alongside a picture of the duo.
