Lagos state police command has said there is video evidence of rapper Ice Prince assaulting a police officer.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said this in a Twitter post on Friday after some Nigerians demanded video evidence as proof of the assault.
According to Hundeyin, the video will be presented before a magistrate court in Lagos.
“For those asking for video evidence, yes we have it. And no, we won’t release it. A very close ally of his has seen it. It will be presented to the presiding magistrate as part of our evidence,” he wrote.
Qed.ng earlier reported that Ice Prince born Panshak Zamani was arrested for allegedly abducting and assaulting a police officer.
Confirming the arrest, Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement, said Ice Prince has been arrested and would be arraigned today.
The statement read: “At about 3a.m @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.
“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
