American celebrities have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin as she passed on Thursday.
Aretha was surrounded by friends and family when she passed. Her family released a statement, saying, “In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart. We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family.”
Aretha died at the age of 76.
Stars such as John Legend, Shoda Rhimes, Ryan Seacrest, Jeff Daniels, Elton John, Anita Baker, Barbra Streisand and Missy Elliot have sent their condolence to her family as they mourn her passing.
